Hello, my name is Rachel Hoyhtya. I moved up to the Fraser Valley in 1996 after getting my degree in psychology. I have always had an interest in mental health and that just was amplified after a boyfriend died by suicide when I was 20. I have lost many friends to mental health and addiction since that time.
After college I started work at the resort and have since been in many different positions throughout the county. I was a firefighter with East Grand Fire for 20 years and went through the training to be a peer support specialist for first responders.
Knowing we have limited resources in the county has always struck a nerve with me and I have tried to fill that void. I have done work as a crisis clinician in the county. I have been a substitute teacher and tutor in all of the schools in the county, East and West Grand. I have been an administrative assistant and done years of bookkeeping.
After retiring from active firefighting duties, I am now on the board of directors for East Grand Fire. I am raising 3 kids in Fraser. They help me to want to keep making a difference. I want them and their friends to see that having fun is ok while staying sober. That substances are not always the answer if they are struggling. Also that there is hope if you do suffer from addiction. Seeing that there was a need in an organization that is making a difference was what nudged me to come help with Tame.
I bring a variety of experience and knowledge and will be able to help in many different ways. From bookkeeping to helping talk people through a rough patch. Helping the Tame staff provide a safe space is a major undertaking that I do not take lightly. I am proud to become a part of what has been built and is available to the community.
Hi! I'm Amanda, I was born and raised in Colorado and have a deep love for Grand County. Growing up, my grandparents owned a ranch in Kremmling, and the memories made there instilled in me a lifelong affection for this beautiful town.
After spending six years as a middle school teacher, I made a career transition into software sales. In 2020, I was fortunate enough to make the move to Grand County when remote work became a reality due to the pandemic. Working from home has given me the flexibility to immerse myself in the community. Whether it's assisting at catering events, lending a hand at the resort, volunteering at the Winter Park Film Festival, or dog sitting, I relish every chance to contribute to the community.
Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of witnessing Stephanie's incredible transformation of Tame Wellness into the remarkable nonprofit it is today. I'm so excited to join the team as it gives me a greater sense of purpose as I look forward to making a meaningful impact alongside this amazing organization!
Jennifer Coffin grew up in northern Colorado with her parents and older brother. Being a Colorado native, she was raised to love and appreciate the outdoors and the animals that call it home. After graduating high school, her path has been anything but ordinary, and has been shaped by a blend of service, personal challenges, and a deep commitment to social justice. From a young age, she felt a calling to help others, a desire that led her to take a gap year and volunteer at an orphanage in Brazil for two months. This experience, while fulfilling, also exposed her to the harsh realities of poverty and injustice, igniting a passion for advocacy that would become a driving force in her life.
On January 1, 2019 she came to realize she had drank her allotted amount of alcohol in life, and with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous, and a lot of willingness, became sober and has stayed sober since. Sobriety became a cornerstone of her transformation, and during this time, she discovered the power of connecting with and supporting fellow survivors of trauma and hardship. This realization solidified her decision to pursue a Master's in Social Work, a goal she achieved after years of dedication and hard work.
Jennifer's approach to social work is deeply influenced by her personal experiences and values. She believes in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual and is committed to fighting for social justice, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized populations. Her work is characterized by empathy, integrity, and a focus on empowering individuals to find their own agency and build lives of resilience and self-determination.
Jennifer moved to Grand County in 2020 to begin a caregiving company. She works with clients and their families to help them find creative ways to utilize their strengths, so they may live the lives they desire, in spite of traumatizing experiences or diagnoses. Drawing on her own experience as a domestic violence survivor and gun violence survivor she simply wants to help people feel hope for the future, after a period it seemed impossible to do so. She lives on Lake Granby with her fiance and two dogs. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, staying active inside and outside, and participating in two-gun competitions with her fiance.
For more than 20 years I have been a Marketing Executive serving the Energy industry and offering organizations and leadership teams the opportunity to gain transparency, streamline operations, achieve Sales and Marketing alignment, and deliver ROI when commercializing products and services. However, I noticed and experienced a critical gap in effective leadership as health, wellness and mental resiliency were sacrificed by myself and my peers in order to achieve ‘success’. Many of the organizations I’ve had the privilege to work for were excellent at managing the bottom line and achieving profitability and revenue targets, but did so at the cost of significant employee burnout, mental & physical anguish and high turnover rates.
In 2020, I opted to step back into a corporate role managing a global team and supporting the marketing of a $860M energy business with a portfolio of products, technology, and services in agriculture, clean energy, oil and gas, utilities and commodity markets. During this time, I successfully lead my team through Covid19 and a massive merger without diminished marketing ROI despite a 50% reduction in force. I also began implementing strategies for myself and my team to navigate the pressure and stress of such a demanding climate with wellness and mindfulness practices. It was during these years that I learned how to manage my mental and physical health by utilizing yoga, Ayurveda, acupuncture and energy management strategies designed to help me stay grounded, manage my anxiety and ADHD, reduce my dependency on alcohol and food for coping, and ultimately find work:life balance.
I left ‘corporate America’ in May 2022 and launched a business and new career in Executive & Corporate Wellness to help managers develop skills and leverage tools for managing stress. In June 2023, I opened Ascending Spirit, LLC, a wellness experience in Winter Park, CO where I lead classes, workshops, and retreats as well as offer a suite of web-enabled tools for clients to implement everyday wellness for themselves and their teams.
I am Laticia and I am excited to be a new member to Tame Wellness. I have been battling addiction for 19 years, have been to jail several times due to the consequences of my disease of addiction and have been to rehab, counseling and therapy yet none of that worked. However thanks to working a program with a sponsor, today I can proudly say I celebrate over 9mos sober! I have been working the 12 steps and my recovery through Narcotics Anonymous with my sponsor for the entire duration of my sobriety. I am of service to 3 NA meetings, chairing, co- chairing, as well as starting the first NA meeting here in Kremmling, CO. Connecting to fellow recovering addicts has inspired my recovery and its my goal to make recovery a bigger community here for us all.
I would love to get training to become a peer recovery coach and finish obtaining my degree in Sociology and Government as well as my minor in accounting. I completed 2years of a 4 year program at Adam's State College in Alamosa. I have always loved helping others, especially those in need and struggling. I can't wait to start building a healthier and safer community in support of mental health awareness and addiction awareness. I know that having sober and clean events and support has turned my life around for the better and made my goals and dreams much more achievable. My hope is to help bring that here to my hometown for everyone deserves to be helped and heard. So blessed to be on this journey and excited to start kicking off events and activities!
My name is Joy Mooers , I am so excited to be a board member for this incredible non-profit focusing on enriching our lives, sober. I grew up in the midwest and a bit of the south. I graduated high school and college, studying Mathematics and Education. I moved to Winter Park Colorado in December of 1993. I rafted, skied, worked and embraced life. We all worked multiple jobs to survive and support our adrenaline junkie lifestyle. Everything changed in April 2023 when my fiance Tylor Nesbitt died in our home at the age of 49. My dog Duke passed away 3 days later. Tylor and I met in 1995 and were friends for decades before getting engaged, moving in together and purchasing a home together. The worst part of this ordeal was, I was serving a 60 day sentence for my 3rd DUI. This devestating experience forced me to confront my relationship with alchohol and the unbearable grief. I joined this organization in January of 2024. I have owned Joyful Painting , a painting company since 2001. 3 DUI, jail, losing my partner Tylor and my dog Duke while I was in jail was a catalyst for change. I took my last drink on August 2023. Joining Tame gave me purpose to leanr and teach others that we can be there to make positive changes. I am learning to embrance life SOBER. I carry the memory of those lost in addiction and suicide with me in theis mission. My first year in honor of Tylor Nesbitt, my soulmate, the love of my life. So excited to see how I can better TAME and how TAME can better me.
