I'm Stephanie Perekovich, the Chair of Tame Wellness's Board of Directors. Our mission resonates deeply with me, and I'm honored to be part of this initiative. Stephanie Pierce and I share initials, so I often go by Stephanie Nicole.
Tame Wellness is a much-needed resource in Grand County, and I have much personal experience when it comes to anything mental health-related. Throughout my journey, I have encountered various challenges such as trauma, grief, health issues/diagnoses, and sexual violence. These experiences have granted me a profound understanding of the crucial need for support from peers and professionals alike. I recognize the significance of fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment where individuals can find solace and empowerment.
Moreover, addiction has directly impacted my life through close friends and family. Witnessing the detrimental effects of addiction has fueled my determination to address these issues and promote lasting healing. I firmly believe in the power of addressing addiction holistically and guiding individuals towards a life of sustained recovery and fulfillment.
I am not only driven by personal experiences, but also by scientific knowledge that sheds light on the profound damages of drugs and alcohol. It is my earnest desire to raise awareness about these harmful substances and help individuals realize that a life of joy, fun, and fulfillment is possible without relying on external influences like alcohol or drugs. I am passionate about sharing this message of hope and supporting individuals in their journey towards a healthier, happier, and more vibrant existence.
By combining my personal experiences, empathy, and scientific understanding, I strive to contribute meaningfully to the work of Tame Wellness. Together with the dedicated board members and our exceptional team, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those seeking support and transformation.

Hello, my name is Rachel Hoyhtya. I moved up to the Fraser Valley in 1996 after getting my degree in psychology. I have always had an interest in mental health and that just was amplified after a boyfriend died by suicide when I was 20. I have lost many friends to mental health and addiction since that time.
After college I started work at the resort and have since been in many different positions throughout the county. I was a firefighter with East Grand Fire for 20 years and went through the training to be a peer support specialist for first responders.
Knowing we have limited resources in the county has always struck a nerve with me and I have tried to fill that void. I have done work as a crisis clinician in the county. I have been a substitute teacher and tutor in all of the schools in the county, East and West Grand. I have been an administrative assistant and done years of bookkeeping.
After retiring from active firefighting duties, I am now on the board of directors for East Grand Fire. I am raising 3 kids in Fraser. They help me to want to keep making a difference. I want them and their friends to see that having fun is ok while staying sober. That substances are not always the answer if they are struggling. Also that there is hope if you do suffer from addiction. Seeing that there was a need in an organization that is making a difference was what nudged me to come help with Tame.
I bring a variety of experience and knowledge and will be able to help in many different ways. From bookkeeping to helping talk people through a rough patch. Helping the Tame staff provide a safe space is a major undertaking that I do not take lightly. I am proud to become a part of what has been built and is available to the community.
Abby has lived and worked full-time in Grand County since 2017, but her journey here started in 1992 when she worked at the Coffee & Tea Market for one season and vowed to return.
From 2017 through 2022 she oversaw the Culinary Operations at the Winter Park Resort. Her favorite part of this role was getting to know all of the people with whom that role afforded her to interact.
After many dinners in her home and social outings with colleagues, she understood the need for entertainment outside of the industry and has supported the work of Tame Wellness since its inception. She now works for Sysco, has 2 adult daughters and resides in Granby.
Hi! I'm Amanda, I was born and raised in Colorado and have a deep love for Grand County. Growing up, my grandparents owned a ranch in Kremmling, and the memories made there instilled in me a lifelong affection for this beautiful town.
After spending six years as a middle school teacher, I made a career transition into software sales. In 2020, I was fortunate enough to make the move to Grand County when remote work became a reality due to the pandemic. Working from home has given me the flexibility to immerse myself in the community. Whether it's assisting at catering events, lending a hand at the resort, volunteering at the Winter Park Film Festival, or dog sitting, I relish every chance to contribute to the community.
Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of witnessing Stephanie's incredible transformation of Tame Wellness into the remarkable nonprofit it is today. I'm so excited to join the team as it gives me a greater sense of purpose as I look forward to making a meaningful impact alongside this amazing organization!
